Located at the heart of leading Malaysian property developer, S P Setia’s booming 4,000 acre Setia Alam Township, the $146million dollar Setia City Mall project will use Rondo wall and ceiling systems to deliver a unique shopping destination. The project includes over 250 speciality stores spread over four levels, one being a designated area for cinemas, bowling alley and a karaoke centre, as well as 4.2 hectares of open green spaces, landscaped parkland and water features.

Rondo is currently supplying the 66,000m2 shopping centre with over 10,000 l/m of Rondo Steel Stud Framing System, along with 10,000 l/m of KEY-LOCK® Concealed Suspended Ceiling system. Rondo provided extensive technical calculations for the featured curved ceiling using pre-curved Rondo Furring Channel. Bulkhead details were also designed for the ceilings to ensure the contractors were well-equipped with technical information to correctly install the Rondo system.

The technical designs for Rondo Steel Stud and KEY-LOCK® systems included a proposal and drawings for multiple ducting, openings and switches. All of these items were addressed before commencement of installation took place, which has prevented any onsite issues.

Scheduled for completion in May 2012, the Setia City Mall will contain numerous sustainable features, such as energy-efficient chiller plants and light fixtures, maximum use of natural light for insulation, 50% reduction in water use through capable fittings, rainwater harvesting, and recycled and locally sourced materials for construction.
