Rondo's Sustainability Success
Rondo’s dedication to identifying, controlling and continually improving the environment impacts of our business operations, has allowed Rondo to be granted ISO 14001 Environment Management Systems (EMS) certification.

The internationally recognised standard incorporates a framework that sets a strategic approach to organisations’ environmental policy, plans and actions. In order to successfully meet the requirements, Rondo set out in 2008 to introduce new strategies that would improve our sustainability within the workplace, and the greater community.

Rondo took part in various programs such as the NSW Governments DECCW Sustainability Advantage program, and the ASI Sustainability Charter, which in turn has strengthened our environmental understanding, commitment and assurance that Rondo has the right processes and procedures in place to be environmentally compliant.

After being contacted by customers who were carrying out work in Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) certified projects, Rondo committed to all 10 of the environmental improvement points that were required for membership to the ASI Environmental Sustainability Charter, so that contractors using 60% or more of Rondo Steel products in a project, could be eligible for an additional green point under the GBCA’s new steel points rating system.

After undergoing intensive document reviews, assessments and audits with Lloyds register, Rondo was identified as having a low environmental risk, with a focus in meeting stakeholder and customer
expectations and leading the industry of roll forming with regards to environmental compliance and subsequently granted with ISO 14001 EMS Certification.

Any questions relating the GBCA projects should be directed to Gonz Marquez, Rondo’s Environment Manager by phone (02) 9912 7387 or by emailing gonz.marquez@rondo.com.au
