Skies the limit at the Royal Children's Hospital

The Royal Children’s Hospital project in Victoria, which commenced in late 2007, is now beginning to take shape and is well on track to meet its stage 1, 2011 deadline.

Royal Children’s Hospital is world class, forward thinking and progressive, with a modern design described as a ‘hospital in a park and a park in a hospital’ .

Currently 1600 contractors are working on the construction site that will soon be home to Australia's largest child health research institute.  The $1 billion project is being delivered as a Public Private Partnership (PPP) by the Department of Health, the Royal Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Health Partnership consortium.

At present, the structural steel roof framing on the East and West buildings is 95 percent complete. The East building plant room metal deck roof is 85 percent complete and wall cladding is 80 percent complete. Wall framing is complete on the Level 3 theatre of the East building, and sheeting commenced just after April. The full height walls are complete on level 4 of the West Building.

In addition to Rondo supplying KEY-LOCK® and DUO® ceiling systems, as well as steel studs, Rondo continues to provide ongoing support through design work and weekly site inspections.

Rondo is very fortunate to be a supplier to such an incredible project. For more information on the Royal Children’s Hospital, click here to read the project profile on Rondo’s website.
